........Annals of the Romanian Society for Cell Biology (RSCB) appear bi-annually, in June and in December. Usually, the issues are dedicated to the papers presented at the Annual Scientific Meeting of RSCB, but we can accept any original contribution in the field of Cellular and Molecular Biology.
Papers will be written in English, with a Summary, containing the main objective(s), a short description of the methods, results and conclusion(s), followed by Key words (5 – 6 words). The main text will comply with the following pattern: Introduction, Material(s) and methods, Results, Discussion (or Results and discussion), Conclusion(s), References.
............The title, the name(s) of the author(s) and affiliation(s) will be centered. First names for women will be written integrally, while for men only the initial(s) will appear. E-mail for contact author should be included.
Pages of papers will not be numbered. Authors should use a Word for Windows text processor, the A4-format page, a 1 cm header and 2 cm footer, the Times New Roman font, size 12, for the main text. Title will be written with size-14 bold capitals. Author’s names and subtitles (Summary, Introduction etc.) will be edited with small characters, 14 bold. Affiliations will be typed with capitals, size 12.
The main text will be single-spaced, with 2.5 cm margins all-around, typed on two columns 7,5 cm width and 1 cm spacing, excepting Summary – one column with size 11. Illustrations and Tables (including legends or explanations) must be included in text at the appropriate place. Illustrations and tables may run across both columns. The papers, having the doc extension will be sent as attached documents. Illustrations sent by e-mail should not exceed 3 Mb. When such situations occur, illustrations can be sent as several files or as archived documents. Do not format the documents!
........Citations in text will obey the following rules: for cited papers with one or two authors, the last name(s) of the author(s) will be used, followed by the year of publication (all information between brackets); for multi-authored papers, the last name of the first author, followed by et al. and the year of publication will be used.
References will be edited in alphabetical order of the authors, followed by the complete title of the cited paper, title of the journal abbreviated according to the internationally accepted rules (International Standard ISO 7144/1986 – “Documentation-presentation of theses and similar documents”), number of the volume, first and last page, and year of publication. (Ex.: Craciun, C; Horobin, R.: A tissue processing schedule for parallel light and electron microscopy. Proc. Roy. Microsc. Soc. (London), 24, 4, 223 – 225, 1989). For articles published in volumes, chapters and books, the name(s) of the editor(s), the publishing house and the place of the publication will be included instead of the name of the journal (Example: Cachita, C.D., Craciun, C., Ultrastructural studies on some ornamentals. In: Handbook of Plant Cell Culture, vol.5, chap.4, pp.57-94, 1990. Edited by Y.P.S. Bajaj and A. Amirato, McGraw-Hill and Comp., New York).
Papers will be sent in an electronic form by e-mail (ccraciun@hasdeu.ubbcluj.ro) or (on CD) by regular mail (C. Craciun, Str. Zorilor nr.40, ap.15, zip code 400335, Cluj-Napoca, Romania).
Authorship
The authorship must be based on substantial contribution to:
•Structuring and writing the article, or acquisition, analysis and interpretation of data;
•Article drafting and critical revision to achieve a highly intellectual content
•Final approval of the version to be published.
All conditions in 1, 2 and 3 must be fulfilled by each author. To participate only for the purpose of obtaining funds or data collection does not justify the authorship. Also, each author is required to assume public responsibility for the article.
Limitations for publication
Results of original research, or reviews on a specific scientific subject will only be published. Bibliographical reports written by doctoral students as part of their doctoral studies will not be accepted. The copyright of the published article belongs to the journal and its content cannot be sent to be partially published by other journals without the approval of the editorial board. The journal does not publish articles already appeared in other national or international journals. Citation: the journal can be cited as Ann. Rom. Soc. Cell Biol.
Reviewing:
The scientific articles are submitted to a reviewing process, by the system of PEER REVIEW. Each submitted article is evaluated by two reviewers, and the reviewing period is 30 days. The scientific reviewers will evaluate, for each paper: the importance of and interest for the scientific subject, the logical development of the scientific ideas, the paper’s originality and author’s credibility.
The authors receive from the reviewers one of the following answers:
•Article accepted;
•Article accepted with recommended modifications
•Article rejected
The deadlines for the submission of the articles will be April 25-th (for the first issue, to appear in June) and October 30-th (for the second issue, to appear in December).
